Alexander McQueen Autumn/Winter 2017 is Inspired by Medieval Armour

with No Comments

Autumn/Winter 2017 is inspired by medieval armour and the heroines of Arthurian legend. A contoured and fluid silhouette dominates, evocative of the softest armour. Panelled knit dresses are juxtaposed with gold metallic yarn as fine as angel hair, silk trailing threads recalling the Lady of Shallot, whilst gossamer silk knits and ribbed dresses reference the armour of Queen Guinevere. The strong feminine silhouette is enhanced with exploded shearling, sculpted leather dresses and biker jackets studded with silver metal hardware or jacket in Birdseye suiting with drape detail, also sleeveless jacket with tonal satin detailing and side drape.
Asymmetric coats are crafted in grey cashmere, featuring an integrated drape detail and worn with wide-legged trousers or an ivory knit degradé pleated dress is embellished with gold press studs and worn with a long leather belt, and a sleeveless double breasted drape jacket, cinched with a long belt.
