Valentino Kimono Floral Collection

with No Comments

A reinterpreted Kimono created by Valentino Garavani in 1997 marks the beginning of a movement that brings Japanese florals printed and applied to ready to wear and accessories. Delicate flowers add romanticism to soft blue pea coats, silk dresses and white kimono dresses.
Blooming stems on camel coats, blue peacoats, sleek trenches and black dresses. Kimono floral appliqué and special embroidery with fringed flowers and golden threads, are applied on brocades, felt and heavy lace creating a series of unique, yet romantic garments.

Creative Directors, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli, also created a series of unique accessories inspired by Japan. Romantic Kimono flowers are printed on leather and then applied with delicate studs on signature accessories such as the Rockstud and Lock bags, always keeping the Valentino craftsmanship and elegance as key protagonists.
