Exploring the extremes of a deliberately excessive taste, for the Spring 2016 Valentino collection Creative Directors renew the sense of a vision that focuses on women. Symmetry, balance, and harmony. With this purpose in mind, Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli collaborated with Canadian artist Christi Belcourt to create a collection inspired by her painting ‘Water Song’, a triumph of workmanship and vivid colors against a black base.
In order to perfectly recreate the painting, suede jackets, skirts and top crops are covered with natural landscapes continuously redesigned by cuts and constructions and embellished with small studs and stones all hand applied.
The Spring 2016 accessories collection reinterprets Valentino’s contemporary classics with a new verve for intense and eye-catching opulence. Antique silver studs, turquoise stones and embroidered removable guitar straps embellish the iconic Rockstud bags. The Rockstud Rolling collection continues with cowboy boots and a fringed leather clutch.
